Annie Duke may not have captured her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but Annie remains one of the most powerful poker competitors around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-awaited World Series of Poker bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run amok following a big success at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mum" to her four kids. She was born in New Hampshire and was raised into a family of poker players. If you don’t accept that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught Annie the correct way to compete in the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has captured her cut of hard matches, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.
Winning over $3 million in tournament play, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet and actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to build up his techniques to become a power player at the poker table.
You may see Annie at the Bellagio, you’ll see her on the television and you might just even compete against her in a web poker match, but don’t bank on a simple win. Unless you’re a rising star, you won’t beat her. although, it is likely to be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
